Sylvia Kay Taylor Sharron

Sylvia Kay Taylor Sharron, 67, of Marianna Florida, devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness on October 13, 2019. She is survived by her husband Randy Sharron of Marietta, Georgia, her two daughters Lauren Fici and Taylor Irby, five grandchildren: Israel Hope, Elijah William, Adeline Faith, Zoe Grace and Isaac Marijan. Sylvia also has a brother, Charles “CT” Taylor of Tyler, Texas, 2 nephews and 3 nieces and a grand nephew. She was a beloved daughter and faithful caretaker of Gertrude Taylor who lived to be 106. Sylvia enjoyed her childhood in Marianna, FL and was a proud FSU Seminole, graduating from FSU with a masters in speech pathology and audiology. She was passionate about helping children with special needs, especially those who needed help in the area of communication. After working at W. T. Elementary school which had a program for children with special needs in Florida, The Sharrons moved to Atlanta where Sylvia eventually worked as a public school speech therapist up through 2018. Because of Sylvia’s calling, countless children now have a voice. In the last decade, Sylvia widened her world as she and Randy embarked on European tours visiting their daughter Taylor’s family in Sarajevo, Bosnia. One of her favorite places was Italy, where she saw the art she knew all her life up close and in person. While visiting Sarajevo, Sylvia made friends along the walking street as she relished every cup of coffee. She learned the phrase for her favorite, coffee with milk, in Bosnian, so she could clearly communicate what she wanted. Sylvia also enjoyed arranging flowers, a talent inherited from her mother. She and her daughter Lauren shared that hobby together. Sylvia also loved to paint, especially watercolor flowers and birds. But among her most cherished activities, was spending time with her 5 grandchildren. Anyone who knew Sylvia knows she loved to speak about her grandchildren and do anything possible for them. She deeply loved her Lord Jesus Christ, and asked Him each day to show her someone who needed help, someone she could serve and show His love. God answered that prayer throughout her life, and Sylvia was known as a woman who truly loved others. Services will be Friday, October 18 at Riverstone Church, 2005 Stilesboro Rd, Marietta. The family will receive visitors from 11am in the Church Lobby. The memorial service will start at 1pm in the Sanctuary.
