T. Richard Peoples

Tyler Richard Peoples, 72, passed away on April 24, 2023, in Kennesaw, GA. He was born on October 18, 1950, in Murfreesboro, TN. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Tyler Gilmore Peoples and Audrey Constance Peoples. He is survived by his wife Mary Faye Jones Peoples, daughter Jennifer Layne Crowder (Nick Crowder), son Douglas Richard Peoples (Tammy Strickland), grandchildren Barrett Crowder (Emily Crowder), Jack Crowder, Tyler Peoples, Lindsey Peoples, sister Loretta Alexander (Drew Alexander), brother Mark Peoples, sister-in-laws Linda Hughes, Debbie Elwell, brother-in-laws Robert Jones, Mark Jones, Coley Jones, and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Richard graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama in 1968. He demonstrated a talent for drawing, engineering, and design at an early age which led to his employment as a draftsman for Racetrac Petroleum. Richard then moved his young family to the Atlanta Georgia area to continue his career with Racetrac. His keen eye to detail proved invaluable to Racetrac in their early days resulting in his advancement to Vice President of Engineering and Design for the fuel and convenience store company. In semi-retirement, Richard turned his hobby of shooting and editing video into a small business and created many videos and 3D animations for churches and small businesses across the southeast. In addition to having a deep appreciation for his craft, what truly brought Richard joy was his ability to share his knowledge through the mentorship of others. Anyone who had the pleasure of working with Richard Peoples appreciated his outside the box thinking, as well as the wit and wisdom he brought to all projects. Richard married his sweetheart, Mary Faye, 53 years ago, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He treasured time spent with his children and his beloved grandchildren. He was a man of many talents, and his hobbies spanned across various fields leading to many dear friendships. He was a talented storyteller and musician who loved playing the mandolin, ukulele, and guitar. He had a passion for music that was infectious, and he loved nothing more than sharing this passion with others. Richard also shared a love for classic automobiles owning many of his favorites over his lifetime. He was admired by many for his kind heart and generosity. Richard never met a stranger, his warm personality and dedication to his fellow man made certain of that. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, GA.
