Tyler Dowdy

Gregory Tyler Dowdy, age 36, of Flowery Branch, GA, left us unexpectedly this past week. Known for his lively spirit and compassionate heart, Tyler brought joy and warmth to everyone he encountered. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Tyler was a devoted father to his beloved daughter, Lyla, who was the light of his life. Whether he was cheering her on from the stands at gymnastics or watching her dance performances, he was always her biggest fan. His love for her was unconditional and unwavering, and he delighted in being part of every moment of her life. He also shared a close bond with his family, especially his sister, Melissa, and brother-in-law, Brandon. The trio often spent many weekends together cheering on the Atlanta Falcons or the Atlanta Braves, creating cherished memories over shared excitement and love for their teams. An adventurer at heart, Tyler had a deep passion for flying, finding peace and freedom in the skies. Professionally, Tyler took pride in his role as a Business Development Manager at Schmalz, where he was admired for his dedication, skill, and positive outlook. He had a natural ability to connect with others, leaving a lasting impression on clients and colleagues alike. He is survived by his precious daughter, Lyla Dowdy; his love, Jessica Dowdy; his parents, Dawn Dowdy and Greg Dowdy; his sister, Melissa Reeves, and brother-in-law, Brandon Reeves; his niece, Ansley Reeves, nephew, Dawson Reeves, and grandmother, Bobbie Leigh Dowdy. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues who will miss the warmth and laughter he brought to every room. Tyler is preceded in death by three grandparents, Leon Dowdy, Glenda Culpepper and Ray Culpepper, as well as his cousin, Jason Smalley. Tyler will be remembered not only for his love of family and zest for life but also for his generous spirit and the laughter he brought to those around him. A memorial service will be held at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Powder Springs on November 14th, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable life. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with the ceremony to follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM.
