Wilder Glover Little

Wilder Glover Little died Thursday, October 18, 2018, after a short illness. He was born to Aimee Dunwoody Glover Little and Adams De Leon Little on April 5, 1930. He grew up in Marietta, was an Eagle Scout, graduate of Marietta High School, class of 1947, attended Presbyterian College and graduated from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha order. He served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lt.in Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star for combat infantry. He worked with his father and ultimately became President and Chairman of the Board of Marietta Federal Savings and Loan Association. Throughout his career, he has devoted himself to supporting and leading non-profit organizations. He had a real interest in historic preservation and was a founding member of Cobb Landmarks in 1976 and actively worked to preserve and furnish Brumby Hall. Wilder served on the Marietta Civil Service Board, the Cobb Co. Selective Service Board, Board of Trustees of the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia, and the Kennestone Hospital Authority. He was a founding member of the Kennestone Hospital Guild. He was a founding member of the Kennesaw Jr. College Foundation and served as Treasurer.He was a member of the Georgia Society of Colonial Wars, the Marietta Rotary Club and life long member of the First Presbyterian Church. Wilder was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Elder Little of Coral Gables, Florida and his sister Caroline Little Witcher. He is survived by his wife, Ann Wyatt Little, sons: Wilder Glover Little, Jr. and Richard Adams Little (wife Felton), brother A.D.Little (wife Sybil), grandchildren: Mary Margaret Licisyn (husband Thomas), Laura Elizabeth Little, Susan Little Jones (husband Sawyer), Jordan Rivers Little, great grandchildren: Hardwick Sawyer Jones and Shirley Margaret Jones. A memorial service celebrating Wilder's life will be held 11 AM Friday, October 26th at the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Wellstar Community Hospice, Tranquility of Kennesaw Mountain, 475 Dickson Avenue, Marietta, Georgia 30064. The family will greet visitors following the service.
