William 'Bill" John Majoros

William “Bill” Majoros was born January 2, 1949 to the late William and Viola Majoros in Cleveland Ohio. All his life, he gave his time to others starting with DeMolay, then Civil Air Patrol (CAP). As a Jaycee, he was the Ohio State SPARK and went on to National competition. He was President of the Lakewood Jaycees, a district director, and then regional director through which he met his future wife. On January 20, 1979, he married the love of his life, Harriette McMichael, and on August 5, 1980 welcomed their daughter, Rebecca. In 1983, he moved to Marietta, GA for job opportunities in the field of computing. He loved computers and was a field service engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation and NCR. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a Free Mason, joining Roswell Lodge #165, where he served as Worshipful Master twice. He was a great Girl Scout Dad to his daughter’s troop, encouraging her to continue to her Gold Award. For many years he was active at First Presbyterian Church, helping with youth dinners on Sundays, becoming a Deacon, and serving as moderator of the Men’s Group. He was part of the men’s group who traveled to Mexico ahead of the youth to lay the foundations for the buildings they would build on their mission trips. In 2002, his great joy was when Rebecca graduated from Queens College. The next year, he bought his first Corvette – a 1984 coupe and joined Classic Glass Corvette Club (CGCC) and became a lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum (N.C.M.). For a few years he was the CGCC newsletter editor. He and Harriette loved volunteering at the N.C.M. and organizing mystery cruises for CGCC. Upon retirement, he enjoyed going to the Tim D. Lee Senior Center and joined his buddies the Geezers with Guns weekly at the shooting range He also had a love of travel. Ireland was his favorite place to vacation and took five extended trips there, but his trip of a lifetime was driving in the Corvette along the picturesque Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica. In October 2017, he puffed with pride as he walked Rebecca down the aisle, where she married her husband Chris Gomez. He is survived by his wife Harriette, daughter Rebecca Majoros-Gomez (and husband Chris), Brother Les Majoros (and wife Linda), and sister Elizabeth “Betsy” Majoros.
