Arnold Dennis Freeman

August 22, 1934 - March 10, 2022

Arnold Dennis Freeman was born August 22, 1934, in Centre, Alabama to Arnold and Edna Freeman. He moved to Georgia in 1954, where he met his future wife Barbara Kate Leavell, they were married on June 30, 1955. Both Barbara and his son Mark passed away in 2014. Dennis married his second wife, Nell Lankford on August 1, 2015, Nell passed away in 2020. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Becky Garner Freeman, granddaughter Nicole and her husband Christopher Payne, grandson Caleb and his wife Erica Freeman, and great grandchildren Eliza, Nathanael, and Silas. Dennis was predeceased by his son Mark Freeman. He had an older sister, Sally Freeman Fievet, now deceased. Dennis loved the Lord and sang in a gospel quartet in his 20's. He was athletic, playing both baseball and football in college. He was a hard worker who loved taking care of his family. He loved cars, traveling, and working with his hands, Dennis was the epitome of a "jack of all trades". He was a man of his word and generosity, giving his time and resources to anyone in need. He grew a garden and loved being outdoors. He will be remembered as a man who loved and served God to the best of his ability, a man who served his family. He gave his best to those he loved and because of his great impact upon those who knew him. Although he will be greatly missed, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is whole and finally at peace in the arms of our Savior. In lieu of flowers Dennis requested that donations be made to the New Salem Baptist Church General or Cemetery fund.
