Cynthia Hesse Prodgers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cynthia “Cynde” Hesse Prodgers, 72, of Marietta, Ga., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Cynde was born on September 16, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin. After high school, Cynde attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Cynde moved to Marietta in the 1970’s, where she met her husband, Toby Prodgers. They settled in Kennesaw and raised their daughters there. After Cynde’s retirement, they moved near the Marietta Square. Cynde was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Roswell, Ga., and a Daughter of the King. She also volunteered with the church’s flower guild. Cynde loved life. She was a visual artist who also loved music. You would always find her laughing. She loved watching football and tennis. She loved to ski and to walk Kennesaw Mountain. More than anything, Cynde loved her friends and family. She loved entertaining her loved ones whether it was a sit-down dinner or wine around the fire pit. She attended every single sporting event, class party, and school performance of her twin grandsons. She was a true friend and an amazing mother, grandmother and wife. Cynde is survived by her husband, Toby Prodgers; her brother Gary Hesse of Hudson, WI; her brother David Hesse of Roswell, GA; her daughter Cathryn Prodgers of Marietta, GA; her daughter Molly Prodgers King, son-in-law David King, and her two grandchildren: John David and Charlie, all of Marietta, GA. Cynde was predeceased by her parents, Wilma and Vernon Hesse of New Port Richey, FL. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Roswell, Georgia. The interment will be held at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta’s Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.
