Kenneth Joseph Lipe

Kenneth Joseph Lipe, 79, passed away peacefully into eternal life on March 20, 2024 with his beloved wife, Mary Beth, by his side He was born in Ionia County, MI on July 4,1944 to Margaret Angela Cusack and William Harold Lipe. One of nine brothers and sisters, Ken enjoyed an idyllic childhood with his siblings Gary, Terry, Eddie, Mary, Anne, Kevin, Becky, and Rita. After graduating from Central Michigan in 1968, Ken moved to Daytona Beach, FL to begin his teaching career. It was there that he met Mary Beth, his beloved wife of 50 years. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Josh, Sara, and Christopher. They moved their family to Georgia in 1988 to be closer to the North Georgia Mountains and enjoy the adventures of camping that they so loved. He was an educator who touched many lives over his 42 years of teaching English at Father Lopez High School in Daytona Beach, FL and McEachern High School in Powder Springs, GA. Ken was a cherished husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, and friend loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed reading, quiet times on the porch, working in the yard, hunting with his family, hardy laughs while joking and telling old stories, and the joy of playing with his grandchildren. Most of all, he was a devoted Catholic who spent his life humbly serving the church and his family. He is survived by the love of his life Mary Beth; his children Joshua Lipe, Sara (Joe) Segars, Christopher (Natalya) Lipe; their grandchildren Chloe, Mathew, Emma, Makenzie, Olivia, and Lily; his siblings Eddie (Pam), Mary (Jim), Anne (Robin), Kevin (Patty), Becky (Jimmy), Rita (Mike); sister-in-laws Judy (Gary) and Teresa (Terry); as well as extended members of Mary Beth’s family along with an abundance of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Angela and Harold Lipe, his brothers, Gary and Terry, his brother-in-law, James Noffsinger, and his granddaughter, Angel Marie. Services are as follows: Visitation at Mayes Ward Funeral Home (180 Church St, Marietta, GA 30060) on Friday, April 5 from 5-7 pm with Rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (87 Lacy St NW, Marietta, GA 30060) Saturday, April 6 at 10 am, immediately followed by a reception at the church.
