Lisa Gugino Gunn

August 10, 1965 - January 19, 2022

Lisa Gugino Gunn gladly stepped into the loving arms of her Savior after a 23 year battle with breast cancer on January 19, 2022. She fought with strength and courage, and kept her effervescent smile to the very end. Lisa grew up in Oconee County Georgia and graduated from Oconee County High School. She earned a B.A. in political science from Agnes Scott College and J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. Lisa was an avid gardener, loved to travel, and had an insatiable sense of curiosity and thirst for knowledge which caused her to continually research anything and everything. She was blessed to have many friends and supporters at Maple Avenue Methodist Church and in the Tres Dias community who loved her and prayed for her through life’s journey, in addition to her dear friends Beth and Charles Cooley. Lisa leaves behind her adoring husband Linwood and two children, Rebecca Grace Gunn and William Rutherford Gunn; her father John Gugino and stepmother Peggy Gugino. She was predeceased by her mother, Hilah Ann Gugino and brother John Gugino Jr. Lisa may have lost a battle, but she won the war. She approached her death without fear, but with gladness and anticipation, only regretting leaving her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Due West UMC or the Camp of Colors http://campofcolors.org/index.html. The Family will hold a private memorial service, to be followed by a Celebration of Life in the Spring.
