Sarah Nell Brown King

February 17, 1930 - April 27, 2022

Sarah Nell Brown King (92) of Kennesaw passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022. Born February 17, 1930, she was the daughter of Manning and Maude Brown. Sarah was born in Marietta, Georgia. She attended Marietta High School and worked most of her life in retail clothing. She was the consummate Southern lady, who was admired for dressing meticulously. She enjoyed making exceptionally delicious biscuits for her family and was the protector of her home. Sarah was the matriarch of her family, and will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Sarah married the love of her life, James Roy King, in 1949. They were married 49 years. She attended Marietta Church of God where she taught children’s church, and Kennesaw Church of God where she was a greeter. Later in life, Sarah joined Hickory Grove Baptist Church where she was a member until the time of her death. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, sister, and husband. She is survived by her son, Thomas King and wife, Susan King, grandsons Kris King and wife, Jill King, David King, and Jeff Darnell. She was so excited to be blessed with three great grandsons, Taylor, Kaleb, and Kolton King. Also surviving are her brother, Charles Brown and her sister, Sue Bolton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 12 noon, followed by the funeral service at 1pm. at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home. Burial will be at The Kennesaw City Cemetery.
