Dorothy L Miller

A mother’s love knows no bounds. From the moment you're brought into her life, she is continuously giving, nurturing and showering you with her care, love and affection. So when you lose your mother it is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. Our family has suffered such a loss. Though she fought valiantly for 10+ years, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy (Dottie) Miller, 82, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away with loving family by her side, Saturday, January 28, 2023, due to complications from late stage Alzheimer’s disease. Dottie was born on January 10, 1941, in Miami, Florida to Audrey and Dick Croop. She had two siblings, Joan Morgan and Bonnie Racosky. Dottie is survived by her 3 children: Teri Snyder (Bob), Bert Miller and Jimmy Miller (Indya); 4 grandchildren: Joshua Poteat, Sarah Tuschl (Bryant), Shelby Miller and Tate Miller and 1 great- grandchild: Kai Tuschl. Dottie was raised in Marietta, Georgia and attended Osborne High School. She met her late husband, John H. Miller Jr. (Hugh) while in high school. After a romantic courtship, they eloped, had a secret wedding ceremony which grew into a beautiful marriage that lasted over 63 years. Hugh was the love of Dottie’s life and Dottie was his. Hugh devotedly cared for Dottie throughout her entire life and predeceased her by exactly 9 months, to the day. After years of hard work and dedication, Dottie and Hugh established roots in Kennesaw, Georgia, where they lived for over 50 years. Dottie worked at Lockheed as an Executive Secretary and ultimately went to work side by side with her husband managing their rental property. While in retirement Dottie enjoyed life to its fullest by traveling around the nation with her husband, friends and family. She also was known to have a green thumb and could be found on any given day enjoying her time keeping up with her garden. Dottie was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. She loved to play games, dance and spend time with family and friends. She was a devoted Christian, a great listener and would give you her full attention and open her home and time to anyone in need. She will be missed by many but we will always remember how fortunate it was that she was in our lives. We wouldn’t trade those moments for the world.
