Jimmy Dean Weaver

Jimmy “Dynamite” Dean Weaver, 75, of Marietta, Georgia passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, January 28, 2016. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Nancy (Dickerson) Weaver of Marietta; his daughter, Deana Gravett of Austell; his son, John Weaver and his wife, Michelle of Douglasville; his baby girl, Mandy (Weaver) Friend, and her husband Randall, of Douglasville. His brother, Jerry Weaver and his wife Joy, of Marietta; his brother, Steve Weaver and his wife Tammy, of Marietta; his sister, Janet Walker of Marietta; his sister, Janie Mercure and her husband Jim of Marietta. Seven grandchildren, Joshua Gravett, Justin Gravett, Nicholas Friend, Laurel Friend, Tyler Fann, Marlei Weaver, & Carter Weaver. Two great grandchildren, Devin Gravett & Jacob Gravett. Several cousins, nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Price Kermit and Willavee (Southern) Weaver. In his early years, Mr. Weaver played the drums in the band called “The Untouchables”, and considered himself to be the best drummer in the world. He ran track his junior year of high school, but only because it got him out of class at the end of the day. After graduating from McEachern High School in 1959, he went on to get a job at Lockheed Martin in Marietta. A devastating car accident in 1961 left him in a coma for six weeks, and permanently disabled. His mother, Willavee, took care of him after the car accident, and became a nurse afterwards so she could care for others. He met his wife, Nancy, at Burger Chef in 1970, and married her the following year. He loved watching the races on television every Sunday, and also watching his grandsons playing football and baseball. Mr. Weaver was a member of First Baptist Church of Hiram in Hiram, Georgia. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5-8pm at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Powder Springs, Georgia. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel, with Reverend Joe Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. If you have a classic car/hot rod, you are invited to drive it to the cemetery in memory of Mr. Weaver.
