Judith “Judy” Lynn Allen, 86, of Kennesaw, GA passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, August 14, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward Dobbins Macland Chapel with Rev. David Hall officiating. Judy will be laid to rest next to her husband Rev. Todd W. Allen, Sr. at Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Powder Springs, GA following the service. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Judy's name to the Todd Allen Scholarship Fund for seminary students c/o Midway Presbyterian Church 4635 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs, GA 30127. Judy is survived by her daughters, Deborah Deldee Patrick & husband Douglas of Acworth, GA, Rebekah Lynn Allen Hamilton & husband Darrell of Kennesaw, GA., and Rachel Davina Allen of Kennesaw, GA., son, Todd W. Allen, Jr. of Douglasville, GA.; grandsons, Justin Kaplan & wife Tara, Caleb Kaplan, Joshua Hamilton & wife Lizzie, Zachary Kaplan & wife Stephanie, and Trevor Patrick; granddaughter, Alexandra Patrick; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other loved ones. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Todd W. Allen, Sr. Judith Lynn Akin Allen was born, May 13, 1937, in Atlanta, GA to Eugene & Deldee Akin. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Rev. Todd W, Allen, and they had 62 wonderful years together until his passing in February of 2020. Judy loved being the wife of a minister and was very active in that role. Being the wife of a minister is more than just a title, she was very involved in his ministries at the many churches they served together. (Mars Hill, Midway, Eastern Heights, Shenandoah, Westminster and First Presbyterian Villa Rica). She participated in the “Women in the Church” Groups at each church they pastored as well as singing in the choir. Judy had a very calming nature to her, she was always willing to just sit and listen, or offer up good advice. No matter what, you always knew she would listen with an open heart and never passed judgement upon you. Judy loved meeting and talking to people, it didn’t matter if you only met her once, she would always remember your name. She was the true definition of a “Southern Lady”. Judy was a loving and devoted wife to her husband. She was also a loving mother and grandmother to her 4 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she taught to love Jesus and put him first. All her children considered her to be their best friend. Judy was a loving friend to so many. She always gave Godly wisdom and guidance, and her presence will be forever missed. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, between the hours of 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM with funeral service to proceed at 2 PM at Mayes Ward Dobbins Macland Chapel in Powder Springs, GA.
