Linda Marie Kohl

Linda Marie Kohl, 70, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on April 18, 2023 at her home. Linda was born to the late Joseph Nagle and Dolores Bradley Nagle on November 24, 1952 in Doylestown, PA. She graduated from Central Bucks East High School in Doylestown and among her achievements were winning the Hannah P Pollak Award for Nursing. She then struck out on her own to go to nursing school at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, where she earned her RN degree. While working as the Head Psychiatric Nurse on the inpatient unit at Jackson Memorial, she met her future husband, a nervous medical student who built up the nerve to ask her out. About 5 months later on December 7, 1973, they were married. While living in Miami her first two children were born, and then in 1979 they moved to Wyomissing Hills, Pennsylvania, where her third child was born. Although she was an incredibly skilled nurse, she gave up her profession to be a full-time mother, however she continued to be involved in hospital affairs, volunteering anytime she was needed. She also volunteered often at her children’s schools, most notably for the arts, choral, and theater programs. Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Stephen Kohl, and her three children: Jason Kohl, of Tampa, Florida; Kristi Kohl Miller, of Roswell, Georgia; and Joshua Kohl, of Fargo, North Dakota. She has one grandchild, Foster Kohl, who always brought a great smile to her face. She is also survived by a sister, while another sister and three brothers predeceased her. Last, but certainly not least, she is survived by her beloved cats, Bella and Buffy. Linda loved being a wife and mother. People gravitated towards her, both neighbors and friends alike, but even more importantly, her children's friends, who always felt welcome (and well fed). She loved to read and she became a real movie aficionado. Most of all, she never missed a game, concert, or function that her children were involved in, and she made it possible for Stephen to balance work and home. Although Linda and Steve were in the medical field, Linda let her children thrive and develop their own individual interests. Jason took after her love of cooking and became a chef, having worked all over the world. Kristi appreciated all she did with her work in the theater and her love of movies, and she is now the Director of Research for a large television company. Joshua could always count on her to help him pursue his own love of music, taking him everywhere for lessons and auditions and fostering his career singing opera throughout the world. None of them could have accomplished any of it without her constant love and support. But perhaps most of all, she loved to laugh. Her smile lit up a room, and whenever she said goodbye to her husband or her children, without fail, her last words were always “Love You”. A service will be planned for early summer in order to allow those who wish to attend time to make arrangements. The family asked that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Humane Society to honor her lifelong love of pets.
