Lydia Kedzierski

Lydia Ruth Musterer Kedzierski, 47, of East Marietta passed away on November 19, 2011 after a short illness. She was born to the late Richard H. Musterer and Lois Jane Shellhammer in Orange, New Jersey on August 8, 1964. She was active in Fencing and was the player-coach of the team in her senior year. Lydia graduated with highest honors from Millburn High School. She followed her older brother Richard to Georgia Tech and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Management Science in 1986 and went on to work as a Production Engineer at Colgate Palmolive and then finally as a Route Analyst with Delta Airlines where they moved her back to the Atlanta area. She ran a frugal newsletter on the web and taught many others how to be more cost conscious. She was a Girl Scout from a very early age, and as a Girl Scout leader, she led a First Lego League Robotics team named GENIUS (Girls Exploring New Ideas Using Science) and led them to the first all girl team championship in the state of Georgia and went on to the 2011 World Festival where they won a “Make a Difference Judges Award” for their wheelchair backup camera system. In this role, she and the team mentored other teams locally and world wide. She left a lucky, loving husband, Mark Philip Kedzierski of Marietta; daughters, Aidan Ruth and Hannah Jane of Marietta; mother, Lois Jane Musterer, of Marietta; brother, Richard Musterer, his wife, Donna, and their sons, David and Sam of Marietta; brother, John Musterer, his wife, Donna, with their sons, Sean and Cameron, of Burlington Township, New Jersey. She is also survived by a father in law, Joseph Kedzierski, of Marietta, three sisters in law, Debra Levy of Marietta, Denise Lowman-Kedzierski of Marietta, and Kathy King of Marietta; two brothers in law, Daniel Levy of Marietta, and Tim Kedzierski of Marietta and two nieces, Valerie and Madelyn Levy of Marietta. We are all stunned and saddened by her loss and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her and those that she has helped. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Must Ministries, the St. Vincent de Paul Society or donations can also be made to Lydia’s Scholarship Fund for New Robotic Teams.
