Patricia Ann Yax

Mrs. Patricia Ann Yax, age 85, of Marietta, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. Patricia proudly served her country as a Nurse in the United States Air Force, completing tours of duty both domestically and abroad. In addition to her professional service, she was a devoted and supportive Air Force wife, embracing the challenges and frequent relocations of military life with grace, resilience, leadership and a keen sense of humor. Wherever the family was stationed, Patricia built community and made a home rooted in warmth, hospitality, and faith. Patricia was a gifted craftswoman who could sew, paint, and design or create nearly any home good with care and precision. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and a lifelong learner who was always educating herself on a wide range of subjects. Her deep Catholic faith was central to her life, and she remained actively involved in her church communities no matter where her travels took her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Joseph and Henrietta Mary Anderson Cunningham; and her siblings, Andy Cunningham, Caitlin Cunningham, Delphine McManus, and Henrietta Keenan. Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Thomas Yax; her daughters, Carole Pavik and her husband, David Pavik, and Kristin Yax Hutton; her siblings, Thomas J. Cunningham, Terri Reed, Michael Cunningham and Ann Franco; her cherished grandchildren, Megan Pavik, Audrey Pavik, and Nathan Pavik; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 87 Lacy Street NW, Marietta, GA 30060, with Monsignor John Walsh officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 2:30 PM, where the United States Air Force will render military honors.
