Paula Elaine Goltz Campbell

Paula Elaine Goltz Campbell, 68, of Kennesaw passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Paula Elaine Goltz was born on March 21, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, the fifth child and third daughter of Bill and Laura Goltz. She was preceded into this world by two minutes by her twin sister, Pamela who will remain her best friend for eternity. Paula was raised along the shore of the St. Clair River in Algonac, Michigan. She played the trumpet in the Algonac High School Marching Band and would often be called from class to play Taps at the local cemetery. She was the Homecoming Queen of the Class of 1968 of Algonac High School. In high school and college Paula waited tables at Henry’s famous seafood restaurant in Algonac. She attended Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, just long enough to make many lifelong friends and fall in love with Don Campbell who she married in 1970. In 1975, Paula and Don moved to the South where they were so taken by the absence of snow and the friendliness of the people that they have stayed to this day. They were blessed with their first child, Donald Liam, in 1978 in Atlanta and with their daughter, Stephanie Jean, in 1981 in Marietta. Paula raised her children in Marietta among friends and neighbors who remain her dearest friends. After moving to Kennesaw, she showed the world her artistic side by creating beautiful watercolor and acrylic paintings. In 2008, she discovered the greatest joy of all when grandchildren began to arrive. She is predeceased by her parents, William Otto and Laura Isabelle Goltz and by her brother, William Goltz. She is survived by her brother, Gerald Goltz; her sisters, JoAnn Ames and Pamela Shaw; her husband, Donald; her son, Donald (Tucker); her daughter, Stephanie (Robert); and grandchildren Donald, Laura, Evan, Robert, Mary and Catherine. She is remembered by her smile, her laugh, and her purple hair. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home in Marietta. A Memorial Service will also take place Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at The Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, 788 Lake Shore Rd, Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.
