Ramona Sue Johnson Nash, 73, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Marietta, GA with her family by her side. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Mayes Ward Dobbins Macland Chapel with Chaplain Judd Henley officiating. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Ramona’s name to the Sjogren’s Foundation at sjogrens.org. Ramona will be laid to rest next to her loving husband Sam at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL at a later date. Ramona is survived by her son, Patrick Nash & wife Stephanie of Marietta, GA; brother, David Johnson of Gadsden, AL; nieces, Vicki Conyer & husband Mike of Paducah, KY and Teresa Daniels of Summerville, SC; nephews, Gregory Johnson & wife Zoya of Powder Springs, GA, Jonathan Johnson & wife Candace of Pensacola, FL, and David Johnson, Jr.; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Nash; parents, Earl & Roxie Johnson; and her sister Helen Shaw & brother-in-law George Shaw. Ramona Sue Johnson Nash was born on Wednesday, August 10, 1949, in Gadsden, AL to Earl & Roxie Johnson. She married her best friend and love of her life Sam Nash in 1969 and they had fifty-two wonderful years together. Sam always said he married his “college sweetheart.” Ramona’s faith was especially important to her, and she had a close personal relationship with God. She loved animals, the Game Show Network, and making several types of crafts, from knitting to making Faberge eggs, and even made her daughters-in-law’s wedding veil. Ramona loved books and described herself as a vivacious reader. She was a caretaker by nature and was always looking out for everyone else’s needs. Ramona spent many years taking care of her parents and other family members. She had a very giving heart that extended out to anyone in need. It did not matter what it was, if you needed it more than she did, she would give it to you. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and aunt. Her loving nature will be forever missed.
