Ronald J. Mach

Ronald Joseph Mach, age 80, of Kennesaw, passed away on October 31, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vladimir and Mildred Mach, and his brother David. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Omenski) Mach; his son Brian Mach (Elaine); his daughter Becky Newkirk (Toby); his brother Richard Mach (Julius); and his beloved grandchildren Colin, Emma, Caroline, Elisabeth and Thomas. Born and raised in Parma, Ohio, Ron proudly joined the United States Marine Corps at the age 19. Between him, his two brothers, and his father, the Mach family honorably represented all four branches of the Armed Forces: Vladimir (Army), David (Air Force), Richard (Navy), and Ron (Marines). Ron served for three years, including 13 months in Vietnam. He completed his service at the Naval Air Station in Olathe, Kansas where he met his wife Sharon of 58 years. After returning to Cleveland, Ron finished his education at Cleveland State University, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. In 1970, he began what would become a remarkable 37-year career with The Timken Company. His work took him and Sharon to Denver, Colorado, where their son Brian was born, and later to West Virginia, where they welcomed their daughter Becky. The family later returned to Ohio - living in Cincinnati and Canton - before eventually settling in metro-Atlanta where he ultimately retired from Timken in 2007. Outside of work, Ron was an avid runner, golfer, racquetball and tennis player. He cherished time with his family - attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and teaching them card games passed down through generations. A passionate volunteer, he volunteered at Kennestone Hospital for 9 years. On weekends, you could always find him cheering for his hometown Cleveland Browns or proudly rooting for Clemson, his son’s alma mater. Ron recently celebrated his 80th birthday surrounded by his family - a joyful milestone filled with love and laughter. A memorial service will be held at Mayes Ward Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Ron’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his patriotism, his good humored wit, and the joy he brought to every life he met.
