Sal Guarisco Jr.

Salvadore Mario Guarisco, Jr. was born on October 22, 1956, in Morgan City, Louisiana. The oldest of 5 children, he graduated early from Morgan City High School and joined the US Navy at 17, where he attended nuclear power school. Sal later attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana and studied radio & TV broadcasting and public relations. He worked in the oil industry in Louisiana before moving to Atlanta in the 1980s, where he managed several Burger King franchises. Sal married Wendy Woodward Guarisco in December 1994. He owned Sal's Inside & Out, providing painting and general contracting services for over a decade, before joining Guarisco Group as IT and Video Production Manager, and later Randall Brothers as Sales Training Manager. Of all his many jobs, being Dad to his only daughter, Emilia, was by far his favorite. He loved being a volleyball dad and accompanying Emilia to tournaments around the country. In retirement, Sal returned to his love of music and indulged his passion for guitars, becoming quite the collector. Sal passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, in the company of his beloved wife of nearly 31 years and their devoted daughter Emilia Guarisco Gledhill (James). He is also survived by other family members who will forever hold him in their hearts, including his cherished granddaughter, Genevieve Gledhill; treasured siblings, Mike Guarisco (Ellie), Jeff Guarisco (Helen), Janetta Guarisco Broussard (Tony), and Don Guarisco (Tina), as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom he held dear. Sal’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to his devoted caregivers at A.G. Rhodes Cobb and Tower Road Post Acute, and most especially Carly Rousseau from Agape Hospice for her profoundly compassionate care and unwavering support. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Following the interment, a memorial Mass in honor of Sal will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock, Georgia. A reception will follow in the church’s Family Center. Sal was devoted to his family, his friends, his guitars, his church, and perhaps most of all, his beloved "flattie" dog Gypsy.
