Whitney Davis Mulholland

Whitney Davis Mulholland, 45, of Acworth, GA died on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Tranquility in Austell, GA surrounded by her loving and devoted parents. Whitney has been a valiant warrior and exhibited strength in her faith as she fought her seven-year battle against breast cancer. She was a bright light in everyone’s day and was determined to find “joy in the journey”. Whitney has been a long-time resident of Cobb County. She was an active and vibrant part of the community. She was very involved at First Baptist Church Powder Springs where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, served in the Preschool area, and in the music program. She was a faithful member of the adult choir and the Praise Team. Whitney had a gift in music and she loved to sing about her faith and commitment to the Lord. Whitney was a 1998 graduate of McEachern High School. She was involved in the Performing Arts Program and made it her mission to enjoy every minute of every day. After graduation she attended Shorter University and then transferred to Georgia State University where she completed a degree in Music Business. Her ultimate goal was to be an entertainment attorney. For four years she lived in Germany, where her son was born, and then lived four years in Panama City, Florida. She moved back to the Atlanta area and secured a position in Human Resources in the Cobb County School District. In her position she became very interested in teaching and decided to go back to school to earn her Master of Arts Degree so she could begin a new career path. She worked at both Durham Middle School and Allatoona High School where she flourished. Whitney was a natural born teacher. She loved the students, loved the teachers and staff, loved the parents and the entire community that she served. She assumed different roles in the school. She served as a mentor to new teachers and as the JV Girl’s tennis team coach. She even helped her brother coach the Varsity Girls Flag Football Team. Going to school every day was “good medicine” for her. It is truly what kept her going! She rarely met a stranger, and people were drawn to her winsome personality. The pastor at First Baptist Church could not have said it any better- Whitney was a cherished part of our church family, faithfully serving wherever needed, but most memorably through her powerful, God-given voice on our Worship Team. What a girl! What a fighter! What a giver to all of us! She will be missed by so many. Whitney left her handprints of positivity and encouragement in countless places and truly exemplified the hands and feet of Jesus—especially over these past 7 years as she walked her journey with such strength, faith, joy, and grace. While our hearts deeply hurt for the Davis and Mulholland family, our souls greatly rejoice knowing Whitney is now using that beautiful voice to worship the Lord in His presence and glory! We grieve, but not without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Please join us in praying for the Davis and Mulholland family, asking for the peace and comfort that only Jesus can give through His Spirit. Whitney’s life was a light for Christ, and her legacy of worship, encouragement, and faith will continue to inspire all of us. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Powder Springs, GA, with Rev. Chip Dean and Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00-2:30 and the memorial service will be at 3:00. Whitney is survived by her loving parents Alan and Karen Davis of Acworth, GA; her son, Mason Mulholland, of Acworth, GA; two brothers, Jordan Davis (Annaleise) of Dallas, GA, Joel Davis (Bellamy) of Birmingham, AL; paternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Davis of Preston, GA; and niece and nephews, Nate, Noah, Charlie and Mari Davis. As James Dillet Freeman said, Life cannot be measured in terms of time, only in terms of living! Whitney certainly lived life to the fullest! In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Whitney Davis Mulholland Memorial Fund.
